Private PDF tools that run in your browser

PdfRecast is a browser-based workspace for editing, organizing, converting, signing, compressing, merging, redacting, and reviewing PDF files. Supported document operations run on your device so the complete file does not need to be sent to a remote document-processing service.

Choose the workflow that matches the document

Native PDFs usually contain selectable text and are the best candidates for direct text correction. Scanned PDFs contain page images, so they need optical character recognition before their words can be edited. Image-heavy or unusually encoded files may need a visual editing workflow instead.

PdfRecast keeps these paths in one workspace. You can inspect the file, use OCR when required, add text or a signature, manage pages, and review the result before downloading it.

What local processing does and does not mean

Supported editing, merge, compression, signing, OCR review, conversion, and save operations use browser-side processing where stated. Account authentication, payment verification, analytics, advertising, feedback, support, and operational logging use network services and may send the limited data needed for those services.

PDF structure, embedded fonts, scan resolution, handwriting, language, browser memory, and security restrictions can affect results. Keep the original file and check important names, figures, formatting, signatures, and redactions in the downloaded copy.
