Convert PDF content into an editable Word document

PDF and Word describe pages differently: PDF preserves positioned page objects, while DOCX is built around flowing paragraphs, tables, and sections. PdfRecast therefore reconstructs an editable document instead of promising a pixel-identical conversion.

How to use this workflow

  1. Open the PDF and determine whether each page has native text or requires OCR.
  2. Review extracted text and correct OCR mistakes before conversion when the source is scanned.
  3. Convert the supported content to DOCX and open the result in a Word-compatible editor.
  4. Check page breaks, columns, tables, fonts, and image placement before using the document.

What affects the result

Simple reports and letters generally reconstruct more predictably than brochures, forms, multi-column pages, mathematical notation, or documents with many overlapping objects. Missing source fonts may be substituted.

Use the output as an editable working copy. Keep the source PDF for comparison, especially when names, totals, legal wording, or complex tables must remain exact.
